Singapore Marriage Application: A Complete Guide

- At the internet kiosks at ROM offices

Required documents:
- Identification documents for the bride, groom, and two witnesses, especially identity cards (for Singapore citizens or permanent residents) or passports (for foreigners)
- Credit card (for online payment), NETS (self-service terminal payment)
- Singpass account: Either the bride or groom must have a Singpass account to start the marriage application online.
Additional documents:
If you belong to any of the following categories, additional documents are required:
- For ceremonies held outside ROM
- For solemnizations conducted via video link
- If your marriage is between a Singapore citizen or permanent resident and a foreigner (current or former work pass holders, including Training Employment Pass holders)
- If either of you has been previously married
- Video link appointment
Application timeline:
You can schedule your wedding at least 21 days after submitting the marriage application. Your marriage application will expire six months after submission.
Fees:
- If either of you is a Singapore citizen or permanent resident: $42
- If both of you are foreigners: $380
If you need to change your ceremony details after submitting the marriage application, you can do so through the following methods:
- Marriage is the union between one man and one woman.
- Both parties must be at least 21 years old.Neither party may be married to someone else at the time of marriage.
- Any previous marriage must be legally dissolved.
- Divorced individuals intending to remarry must disclose details of any existing maintenance orders in their declaration, including timely payment status (if applicable).
- At least one party must be non-Muslim to register for a civil marriage. If both parties are Muslim, please refer to the Muslim marriage procedures.
